xterm window sizes

Hello,

I have been using ctwm and like it, but I have had problems with xterm window
sizes. Specifically it seems that when I rlogin to a silicon graphics box
from my sun computer that it doesn't get a clear idea of the xterm screen
size and so the editor (VI) messes up on line count. I haven't had this
problem before when using the Motif window magager, for instance.
Another thing is that I don't get correct numbers for window placement
from the utility xplaces and have to figure them out in a more
roundabout way using xwininfo.

Finally, is there a way to startup so that various x clients show up in
different screens? I have used this syntax:

OccupyAll {
    "xclock"
}

Occupy {
    "xrolodex" {"Home" "Pine"}
}

but it doesnt actually start the clients. It seems they must be started
up in xinitrc and then there is no provision for making them occupy the
desired screens.

Thanks,

sas
