ctwm crashes Xsun

Hi,

I have a problem with ctwm. This is Solaris 2.5 on Sun Sparc. I use
Sun's openwin X-server ctwm (either 3.3 or 3.4, compiled with X11R6
libraries). When I use the ghostview program, and select "Print marked
pages..." under the "File" menu, there pops up a window, but this is
never completed, and instead the Xserver dumps core. (I enclose a gdb
backtrace later.) This problem does not occur if I use twm instead.
Using the MIT X11R5 server on a Sun 3/50 also avoids the problem. I
have had simular results (core dump with the openwin server+ctwm, no
coredump otherwise) with some programs in the Solstice Adminsuite
(don't exactly recall what, but I can reproduce).

Thus, it is by no means clear that ctwm is the offender. Nevertheless,
can anyone help investigate this, or have some idea? Can this mail be related:

   Hi,

I am having a problem that only occurs when I'm using ctwm. I'm not
convinced that ctwm is causing the problem though. I was wondering if
   anyone else has seen it.

   I am running X11R6 on a Solaris 2.5 sparcII. I am running ctwm-3.4 beta1

   % ctwm -version
Twm version: MIT X Consortium, R6, ctwm 3.4beta1
Compile time options : XPM USEM4 SOUNDS

What happensf is that I start an Xterm (or something) and it
comes up positioned so that one border is outside my current screen.
My X session immediately stops listening to my mouse or keyboard.
After 3 or 4 seconds, my screen goes dark, and then my X session
crashes, leaving me at a console login prompt, and a keyboard in
"raw mode." Note that ctwm is not the client that my X servers waits
on before exiting, so I'm pretty sure that my X server is crashing,
   not ctwm.

Any clues, thoughts, suggestions are all welcome.

   Thanks,

Bengt
