Hello,
I know, it's too late now, ctwm 3.4 is out... but I simply forgot about
making the following suggestion earlier :-( Well, maybe I'll see it in
ctwm 3.5...
The point is as follows: At our site, ctwm is configured that it ALWAYS
executes a system default startup and after that, the user can make its
personal changes. Our system.ctwmrc looks as follows:
include(/public/lib/X11/twm/ctwmrc.pre)
include(/public/lib/X11/twm/system.twmrc)
include(/public/lib/X11/twm/ctwmrc.post)
sinclude(HOME/.ctwmlocal)
This way, we ensure that every user gets a basic setup, and personal
settings can be put in his .ctwmlocal. Well, the problem is that in
the system-wide setup, "UseThreeDBorder, UseThreeDIconManagers,
UseThreeDMenus, etc." is switched on. But a few people only have work-
stations with black-and-white monitors (Sun ELC...), and on that screens
those 3D-things just look bad! So, those few people would like to be
able to switch off the 3D effect, but there is no DontUseThreeD...
command, as is with e. g. "(Dont)IconifyByUnmapping, (Dont)MoveOff,
etc."
So, could you please include such "DontUseThreeD..." commands in the
next version of ctwm, or, alternatively, can anybody tell me how to
switch off the 3D-effect with the means of ctwm 3.4?
Thanks
Alfred
