background for workspacemanager

I'm upgrading from ctwm 3.3 to ctwm 3.4pl2, and for whatever reason am
bothered by the white background of the workspace manager (or at least
the white borders that frame each mini desktop).

Is there a flag to change this to black? i've been unable to find one.
