Claude,
This is still erroring. I am now running the latest and greatest
ctwm. If I start reader, when it tries to open the directory listing
window, it not only shuts that window, but all others and logs me
out. I have also notieced this with other clients, admintool, Solstice
backup.
In attempt to try and work out what is happenening, I have just run it
through xmon. Unfortunately I know nothing about X requests, but I am
getting something else now. In the window that started the reader, I
am receiving the message:
uksa1-richard> reader: Using /usr/local/frame5/fminit
reader: Starting FrameReader 5. Copyright (c) 1986-1995 Frame Technology Corp.
Before using FrameReader for the first time, read
the online manual "Changing Setup Files" for information on
configuring Frame products for use with various window managers.
reader: Finished loading
XIO: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) on X server "uksa1:1.0"
after 919 requests (896 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
The connection was probably broken by a server shutdown or KillClient.
I have also received "Connection reset by peer", error 131.
Admintool is also a great one. Infact, it is even easier to take out
ctwm with this. Start admintool, goto the software section, and then
in the new properties menu select "Package
Administration". Immediately you are logged straight out. xmon won't
even block this. It take this out as well.
Any ideas what might be happening here ?
Cheers,
Richard
