I have resurrected my old AutoLower patch for ctwm. AutoLower is
similar to AutoRaise, but whereas the latter raises the window after
the mouse pointer has entered it, AutoLower lowers the window after
the mouse pointer has left it.
I mostly use this in conjunction with AutoRaise, for two kinds of
windows. One kind is a little informational window (such as for
console output, say) where I always leave a little spot visible. I
can then position the mouse on that spot, the window pops up, I read
whatever is there to read, then I move the mouse away and the window
drops out of sight again. The other situation is when I use Emacs and
xdvi: xdvi is made autoraise and autolower. For previewing, I pop up
xdvi, then I move the mouse back to Emacs and the xdvi doesn't disturb
me any more.
Claude, would you like to include this in the distribution?
