I reported this in <http://tigerdyr.wheel.dk/ctwm-archive/0060.html>,
although I thought it was limited to Solaris. We use ctwm in spite of
this problem and switch to (ugh) CDE when we have to run Java apps, so
we'd be really happy to see it fixed.

I found what sounds like the same problem in Sun's bug database
<http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4252617.html>.
It has apparently be closed as not-reproducible on 1.4.0, so maybe
that's the next thing to try.
