The correct answer, of course, is to use the correct term-of-art
"screen", for the distinction between display .1 and .0 ...
Once one knows this (I had to be noodling around in ctwm.c before I
realized it) the search for the correct config structure (a separate
ctwmrc.[screen-number]) was straightforward.
